Holding support or carrier?
Nido Team · February 27, 2026

The names can sound similar. The way you use them is not.
A baby holding support such as Nido adds a soft layer within your arms. A baby carrier is worn on your body and has its own fit, fastening and use instructions. One is not a substitute for the other.
What is Nido for?
Nido is for seated, awake, supervised holding. Rest the pod between your forearms and keep your baby securely supported with your arms and hands.
It has no straps or fastenings. It is not a carrier and is not hands-free. If you need to let go, stand up or do another task, Nido does not take over the hold.
What should you compare?
Start with the moment you have in mind, rather than the product name.
- How you plan to use it. Sitting together and moving around are different needs.
- How baby is supported. Read the instructions for the specific product.
- What your hands must do. With Nido, both arms and hands continue to support your baby.
- The stated limits. Check the manufacturer’s current guidance before choosing or using any product.
A clear place in the day
Nido is a comfort layer for the baby you are already holding. It is not a seat, restraint or sleep product, and must never be used to leave a baby unattended.
